Ann Shephard

Ann has held several management roles within the VET sector, and has expertise in vocational development planning and programming. She has additional hands-on experience of RTO compliance and auditing.

During her time with Kirana, a VET FEE-HELP provider comprising five RTOs, Ann was involved in the audits of partner organisations to ensure compliance. She has also led successful ASQA audits while with Precision Training and while at Coates Hire she led a successful re-registration audit.

Ann has had extensive audit experience within the VET sector, and she has also managed training and assessment procedures of private education providers, as well as contributed to program design and development.

With a strong focus on validation, Ann has undertaken courses held by ASQA auditors to understand the process more fully. She relishes the chance to implement the knowledge she has gained with reference to the new ASQA Standards for RTOs that have been introduced in 2015.

"I have a passion for continual improvement and change management," says Ann, "and enjoy developing systems, procedures and policies to establish a culture of continuous improvement."

Ann first honed her change management skills while holding a senior position with Volvo Parts Logistics Australia, which provided her with the opportunity to lead a large internal business unit into becoming an innovator of continual improvement through the adoption of competitive systems and practices.
From there, at Precision Training Australia she developed a training program for over 150 employees to reduce waste, tailored for specific job roles and using five separate qualifications. With a keen interest in sustainability, Anne undertook a Gradate Certificate of Education for Sustainability from 2013-2014 to further enhance future organisational continuous improvement development that she may lead.
